Gingerbread Tiramisu with Amaretto and Spices
This gingerbread tiramisu is a delicious end to Christmas dinner and combines the flavors of cinnamon, cardamom and espresso to create an irresistibly Christmassy dessert. The gingerbread provides a spicy base that combines perfectly with the creamy mascarpone cream and the subtle hint of amaretto. A special holiday treat that sweetens the evening and conjures up Christmas joy on the table - perfect for the festive finale of Christmas dinner.
Ingredients:
- 250 g mascarpone
- 200 ml cream
- 2 egg yolks
- 50 g sugar
- 200 g gingerbread (without icing)
- 150 ml espresso (cooled)
- 50 ml Amaretto (alternatively: alcohol-free almond or vanilla extract)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom (ground)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for dusting
- chocolate shavings or chopped almonds (for decoration)
Preparation:
- Prepare the cream: Beat the cream until stiff. In a separate bowl, stir the mascarpone, egg yolk, sugar, cinnamon and cardamom until creamy. Carefully fold in the cream until you have a smooth mixture.
- Soak the gingerbread: Mix the espresso with the amaretto. Cut the gingerbread into pieces and dip them briefly into the espresso mixture. They should soak well, but not become too soft.
- Layers: Place a layer of soaked gingerbread in our L storage box, then spread a layer of mascarpone cream on top. Repeat this process until all the ingredients are used up, with the top layer being cream.
- Cooling: Leave the tiramisu in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight to intensify the flavours.
- Serving: Dust with cocoa powder and chocolate shavings before serving. For extra Christmas charm, you can use chopped almonds as decoration.
