Coconut Cult: Homemade Coconut Yogurt for Your Gut Health

On the broadcast channel on Instagram, I already took you on my little Coconut Cult journey - from the first attempt to the finished result. Many of you wanted to know exactly how I do it - so here is, as promised, my exact recipe for homemade coconut yogurt. Plus some information on why fermented foods are true gut-friendly heroes. 🧡

My Coconut Cult recipe for home

🕒 Prep time: 5 minutes
⏳ Fermentation time: approx. 48 hours
🍶 Yields: 1 jar (0.4 l)
🌱 Vegan, lactose-free & anti-inflammatory

Ingredients


  • 400 ml coconut milk (high coconut content, no additives – e.g., 90 %)

  • 1 packet of yogurt cultures (vegan, from the pharmacy or online)

  • 1–2 tbsp cane sugar or coconut blossom sugar (as food for the bacteria)

Here's how:


  1. I use our Ripple Mason Jar 0.4 l – it's perfect for one portion of yogurt.

  2. Add coconut milk and sugar and stir well.

  3. Now add the yogurt cultures – stir well again here.

  4. For fermentation, I use our fermentation attachment: It ensures that gases can escape, but no air gets in – really practical!

  5. The jar then goes to a quiet place for 48 hours at room temperature.

  6. Afterward, stir, close the lid tightly, and put it in the refrigerator.

After 2–3 days in the refrigerator, the yogurt is especially creamy – perfect for eating with a spoon, topping, or for bowls.
