Recipe: Quick Spicy Calabrian Chili Oil
Yields 1 jar (Ripple Mason Jar | Regular | 0.12 L):
Ingredients
2–3 dried Calabrian chillies, roughly broken
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
½ tsp fennel seeds
Zest of ¼ organic orange
approx. 120 ml high-quality olive oil
Preparation
Warm the olive oil over low heat in a small saucepan.
Add chillies, garlic, fennel seeds, and orange zest.
Let it infuse for about 5 minutes at very low temperature (do not fry!).
Then carefully pour into a sterile Ripple Mason Jar (e.g., 0.12 L or 0.25 L).
Seal airtight – keeps for several weeks in the refrigerator.
Flavour Tip
For a more intense flavour, you can gently reheat the oil after a few days – this allows the aromas to develop even further.
